Why Captain Marvel is set in 90s?

As we all know that the upcoming Captain Marvel movie is wholly based on the 90s & in this post, we'll be going to discuss why Captain Marvel movie is set in 90s.
So let's get this started.
According to the president of MCU Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios going to explore the MCU's old times which we're not familiar with it yet by the help of Captain Marvel.

In the interview, Kevin Feige says that Movie's storytelling will help Marvel Studios to show a different angle of MCU
This is going to be a fun angle where we all going to see Nick Fury who doesn't have any information about superheroes. We are also going to see the Kree-Skrull War which was the most significant moment in Marvel Comics. In between this, We'll go to see Carol Danvers in and as Captain Marvel.

In Comics, Carol Danvers introduced in 1968 & after nine years she becomes a superhero.
In the movie, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel going to starts her superhero journey from the 1990s.

In  MCU history, We have already seen the 90s time in Iron Man 3's New York Party, Howard Stark killed by Bucky in the Civil War & flashback of Black Panther but these all are flashbacks.
In Captain Marvel movie, We'll be going to see 1990s events, No flashbacks where Nick Fury have both eyes & it was not that common for ordinary peoples to saw superheroes in that time.

In the interview, Kevin Feige also said that Captain Marvel movie is going to be a 90s action movie which same as we saw in Captain America: The Winter Soldier

In this movie, We'll be going to see Captain Marvel with Nick Fury (with his two eyes) & Phil Coulson & because this movie was base on the 90s Kree-Skrull War, We'll also going to see Ronan-The Accuser
